VMAs Best New Artist Finalists Announced
Chappell Roan, Gracie Abrams, Tyla Round Out Top Five
MTV has revealed the five finalists for its Best New Artist award at the 2023 Video Music Awards:
- Chappell Roan
- Gracie Abrams
- Latto
- Måneskin
- Tyla Yaweh
The winner will be announced during the live broadcast of the VMAs on August 28th. The awards show will air live on MTV at 8 pm ET/PT.
All five nominees have had a breakout year in 2023. Chappell Roan released her debut album, "Pink Pony Club," to critical acclaim. Gracie Abrams released her EP, "Minor," which features the hit single "Mess It Up." Latto released her debut album, "777," which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
Måneskin won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021 and has since released their debut album, "Teatro d'Ira - Vol. I." Tyla Yaweh released his debut album, "Heartbreak Hotel," in 2023.
The Best New Artist award is one of the most prestigious awards at the VMAs. Previous winners include Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and Billie Eilish.
