India Reaches Women's Asia Cup Final with Dominant Win over Bangladesh
10-Wicket Victory Secures India's Spot in Title Match
Bangladesh's 81-Run Target Chased Down in Just 11 Overs
India has stormed into the final of the Women's Asia Cup, securing a comfortable victory over Bangladesh by 10 wickets. Defending champions India chased down Bangladesh's modest target of 81 runs in a swift and ruthless manner, completing the chase in just 11 overs.
India's openers, Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana, led the charge, putting on an unbeaten partnership of 83 runs to guide their team to a comprehensive win. Verma remained unbeaten on 43 runs, while Mandhana contributed a solid 40 runs.
Bangladesh, who had earlier won the toss and opted to bat first, struggled to build a substantial innings. Bangladesh's top-scorer was Lata Mandal, who contributed 19 runs, but none of the other batters managed to cross the 15-run mark. India's bowlers, led by Deepti Sharma and Rajeshwari Gayakwad, maintained tight control over the Bangladesh batters, restricting them to a below-par total.
India, who have won the Asia Cup a record six times, will now face the winner of the second semi-final between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the title match. The final is scheduled to be played on June 15th at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
