Chelsea Reach Quarter Finals with 2-0 Victory Over Borussia Dortmund
Blues Secure 2-1 Aggregate Win in Champions League Last 16
Chelsea 2-0 Borussia Dortmund (2-1 agg)
Chelsea have secured their place in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League after a 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night. The Blues progressed with a 2-1 aggregate scoreline, having lost 1-0 in the first leg in Germany.
Graham Potter's side dominated the game from start to finish and thoroughly deserved their victory. Kai Havertz opened the scoring in the 28th minute, heading home a cross from Hakim Ziyech. Joao Felix sealed the win in the 63rd minute, finishing off a move involving Havertz and Enzo Fernandez.
Dortmund never really looked like getting back into the game, and Chelsea comfortably held on to their lead to book their place in the last eight. It was a much-needed win for Potter, who has come under pressure in recent weeks. The Blues have now won their last four games in all competitions, and they will be hoping to continue their good form when they travel to Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday.
